Elbers shared that by 2025, the company anticipates the arrival of smaller A321 XLR aircraft, which will enable long-haul flights. This development will assist the airline in launching more extended direct international routes. Indigo currently operates a fleet of over 400 aircraft and has also placed an order for 30 large A350-900 planes.

Elbers stated, “A relatively young airline like ours expects to welcome over 112 million passengers in 2024, surpassing the milestone of 100 million annual customers achieved last year.”

During discussions with investors, Indigo’s Chief Financial Officer Gaurav Negi mentioned, “The number of grounded aircraft has now dropped to less than 70. Based on our discussions with the original equipment manufacturer, we expect this number to decline further to 60–65 by the end of the year and approximately 40 by the start of the next fiscal year. while the basic fuel costs have decreased year-on-year, the total fuel costs have risen due to increased consumption, higher value-added tax on aviation fuel in some states, and congestion at major airports.”

As of December 24, 2024, InterGlobe Aviation’s Indigo shares surged by 4.17% to hit a high of ₹4,667.90. By the market’s close, Indigo shares were trading up by 3.70% at ₹4,604.35 per share. On the other hand, the BSE Sensex fell by 0.09%, closing at 78,472.87. Additionally, Elara Capital has raised Indigo’s target price from ₹3,847 to ₹5,309, indicating a potential 21% growth.
