India’s GDP grew 6.2% in Q3; full-year growth expected at 6.5% in FY 2025.

Some data was released by the National Statistics Office on Friday, according to which the Indian economy has registered a growth of 6.2% in the third quarter (October- December) of the financial year 2024-25.

Let us tell you, this is slower than the 9.5% growth recorded in the same quarter of the last financial year.

While GDP growth stood at 6.2% in the December quarter, it was up from 5.6% in the previous quarter.

Annual Growth Projections

It is estimated that GDP growth in the entire financial year 2024-25 may be 6.5%.

Along with this, there was a growth of 5.6% in the agriculture sector, while a growth of 3.5% was recorded in the manufacturing sector.

There was a decline in exports due to global economic recession and geopolitical tensions.

Economic growth has gained this momentum because the government has taken several measures to invest in infrastructure and promote manufacturing.

Economists believe that the Indian economy has strong growth potential in the coming years. It is also believed that they may have to face challenges like global economic uncertainties and rising inflation.

Future Economic Targets

The government aims to achieve GDP growth of more than 7% in the year 2025-26. For this, the government will need to promote exports, encourage private investment and focus on job creation.
