2024: In Preparation for Union Budget, Finance Minister Sitharaman Conducts 4th Pre-Budget Meeting
In order to turn India into a developed country by 2047, PM Modi emphasised the necessity of a profound mental change.

On Thursday, Nirmala Sitharaman, Union Finance Minister, hosted conversations with stakeholders and experts from the industry, trade and export sectors in New Delhi as part of the arrangements for the Union Budget budget 2025-26. The February 1, 2025 will mark the eighth consecutive budget presentation of Sitharaman.
“Union Minister for Finance and Corporate Affairs Smt. @nsitharaman share the 4th Pre-Budget Consultation with the stakeholders and experts from export, trade and industry sectors inconnection with the upcoming Union Budget 2025-26, in New Delhi, today”, the Ministry of Finance stated in a post on X (formally Twitter)”.
“The Chief Economic Adviser to the Government of India, the Secretaries of the Department of Economic Affairs @FinMinIndia and @DoC_Gol, the Finance Secretary and @SecyDIPAM, and Union Minister of State for Finance Shri @mppchaudhary also attended the meeting”, the post continued.

The meeting was joined by Commerce Secretary, Sunil Barthwal; Chief Economic Advisor, V. Anantha Nageswaran; Finance Secretary and DIPAM Secretary, Tuhin Kanta Pandey; Union Minister of State for Finance, Pankaj Chaudhary; and Economic Affairs Secretary, Ajay Seth.
These discussions come after Prime Minister Narendra Modi presided over a high-level gathering of economists and industry professionals earlier this week with the topic “Sustaining India’s Growth Momentum Amid Global Uncertainty”. Creating jobs, long term growth plans, increasing agricultural productivity and taking global geopolitical issues were all topics of debate.

Sitharaman attended another pre-budget meeting with Finance Ministers from several states and union territories on December 20 in Jaisalmer. Along with the Deputy Chief Ministers of Arunachal Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Telangana, the Chief Ministers of Goa, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Meghalaya and Odisha also attended the conference. Important representatives from the Finance Ministry were also in attendance, including the secretaries of expenditure and economic affairs.
